Swatches
This is what inspired me to determine my colors. A mix of light and dark green with a hint of orange.
These are my color swatches. I found this very interesting to make and I feel like I learned much more about colors in general. I now know how to mix and match properly. With practice, I will naturally know which colors work together.

Composition
Composition

For this project, I decided to take photos of certain things that stood out to me on campus. The composition aesthetics that show in my photos are close-up, symmetry, landscape, 2/3 rule and composition. I believe these photos truly captured the meaning of spring. The nature is beautiful and shows exactly what spring represents. My magazine story will discuss nature in terms of spring. Spring is burst of energy and life and I believe these photos portray this. So many things happen in the spring and I would like to show this in my photos.

Movie Poster
For my movie poster, I decided to recreate the thriller movie Gone Girl.
Before/After:
This is the original movie poster of gone girl. I did not completely remake it, however this poster definitely helped give me an idea of what/how I wanted to make my movie poster.
Below is my movie poster that I ended up recreating.
What I did to achieve this:
I used a dark twisty background of a forest since this movie is a thriller and I believe this was the right atmosphere. I photoshopped a shadow of a woman walking away to emphasize the fact that she is gone, and by doing so I used the quick selection tool to get rid of the background of the shadow of the woman. I then used the command T to drag her down and make her a proper size which would fit the scene properly. I added the movie credit text at the top because I felt like it looked better at the top rather than the bottom. I felt like if it was placed at the bottom it would ruin the overall poster by blocking the road. I used a scary kind of font for the movie title and added "stroke" and "inner glow" to the font because I wanted to be able to communicate a creepy feeling. I used the layers of vibrance and saturation to give the overall poster some color. I was also able to remove the blemishes using the spot healing brush and then following with the patch tool.
Challenges:
I definitely found this challenging since I started this with only a black background of a dark forest. I wanted to try my hardest to make this movie poster look as real as possible. I believe the end results of my movie poster have shown my improvement in this photoshop class. I believe that I achieved what I had wanted to accomplish to some extent, but I feel that there is always room for improvement.
Stay tuned for more coming soon! Thank you for reading my blog!

Meme
MEME
Hi guys!
Introduction
For this project, I decided to use a photo of my friend with a "what even" face and added friends hanging out as a background image. This meme depicts your reaction when your friends exclude you from a plan. I added the text "when your friends make plans without you" to emphasize my friends face and the context of this meme. I found this funny cause it is definitely relatable. It happens to most of us. Another thing I found funny in this image is the fact that my friend is holding the coffee cup in this image.
I created this meme by using the select tool option to select my friend and remove the background image she was originally in. I got an image of the girls hanging out from the internet and used it as a background. I eventually used "command T" to make my friend bigger and allow her to hold the cup. I am happy with these results! Hope you liked my meme!

"Instagrammish"
"Instagrammish"
When I first found out I had to choose photos, I decided I wanted a New York Theme. In these photos, I enhanced the filters to make them a bit stronger. I believed it made the pictures a little more lively. Not only did it gave the pictures more personality, but it made them stand out. I learned a lot more by using different editing techniques and exploring different adjustments to make a picture more vibrant.
How I made my filter:
Exposure: +0.62
Offset: -0.0042
Gamma:1.00
Hue: -3
Saturation: +10
Lightness: 0
Brightness: 8
Contrast: 24
I hope you enjoyed these before/after photos! I hope to improve in the future.

introduction
hello!
welcome to my blog!
my name is Tara. i'm from Lebanon. not Lebanon, Tennessee or Lebanon, New Jersey.. but Lebanon the country! (Middle East, to those of you who don't know!) i'm currently a sophomore here at high point university. i'm a strategic communications major with a minor in marketing.
i am always interested in learning about new cultures and meeting new people. this explains my insanely long bucket list and my involvement in the global student association. through international club, i've met friends across the globe, who over time have become my family. i am also a social media representative for the global student association and i've always been interested in the social media aspect of organizations. i believe in the power of environment, whether that be pinning positive mantras on one's mirror to reaffirm each morning, blaring uplifting music in the car with friends to boost the mood, or finding that perfect coffee shop aesethetic for instagram photos and ambiance for intimate conversation. i believe this trait will prove beneficial to this class as i have learned how to connect colors and fonts to provoke emotion.
